A Reception on the Hill

We here at PEATC are part of a national coalition of parent centers. Did you know that all fifty states have at least one center per state dedicated to supporting families with special needs children?  That is a lot of centers staffed with a ton of people who are ready and willing to help families.  And we have a “Hub”, a Parent Center Hub, so if you happen to find us here in Virginia but know your sister in Florida could use support well… “we have a center for that.”

Now every once in a while there is the opportunity for these centers to converge in one spot, and one of those opportunities happened to be earlier this week, on July 27, 2015. We thought we would share some pictures from that evening, so our community can catch a glimpse of when these individuals with the same passion to serve families from around the country, meet up in one room.

To set up the pictures below, it might be worth mentioning that those in attendance were on their own time not paid to be there.  The event was sponsored privately and the federal representatives who spoke from varying states did so because they support the work the centers do for their state.  Pretty cool, right?
